LSG vs CSK IPL 2023 Match Preview & Prediction | Match 45

LSG vs CSK is the second meeting between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season. Moeen Ali, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Devon Conway starred in CSK’s 12-run win over LSG in the first meeting between both teams this season.

The match will take place at Lucknow’s BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium on Wednesday at 3:30 PM.

Lucknow Super Giants

LSG’s strength has been its opening duo – Kyle Mayers and KL Rahul. The West Indian all-rounder has helped the franchise to make quickfire starts in the powerplay. However, the middle order has to step up their game. Marcus Stoinis could miss the match due to a finger injury in the victory over Punjab Kings. Nicholas Pooran, Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, and Ayush Badoni can play big knocks.

The bowling attack has been affected by the absence of Mark Wood, who took 11 wickets in four matches. However, Naveen-ul-Haq has impressed with his economical bowling. Uncapped pacer Yash Thakur, too, has shown his potential. The spin department won’t be a worry for the LSG coaching staff, as Ravi Bishnoi and Krunal have done an excellent job so far.

Chennai Super Kings

Devon Conway is having a dream IPL 2023 campaign. The New Zealand international has hit five fifties in the last six outings and is in the race for the coveted orange cap. Conway and his opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has scored 354 runs, have dominated the bowlers in the powerplay. On the other hand, Shivam Dube and Ajinkya Rahane scored close to 500 runs between them.

The absence of an experienced pacer has hurt CSK in a few matches. Though Tushar Deshpande has taken 17 wickets, he hasn’t been able to control the scoring rate. The pace bowlers leaked plenty of runs in the death overs. It would be a relief for CSK fans that Ravindra Jadeja has been performing well. He has provided plenty of breakthroughs in the middle overs and has taken 13 wickets at an economy of 7.50.

LSG vs CSK Head-to-Head
